Default Hello Everyone

Hello-

Im new to the forum but have had my Jag for about 3 years now. I love this car so much but it has had some problems too. I have a 2005 X type 3.0 Sport with a manual transmission. It is a Metallic grey with charcoal leather interior. Right now it has 79k miles on it. About 6 months ago i had to replace the transmission, found a refurbished part in ohio that cost about 4gs to complete. Every since this was done i notice when i slow down and bring down the RPMs then hit it, it will accelerate normal but then pause then it seems like it catches back up again to normal acceleration. Like i said before I love this car but I need it as my primary mode of transportation and unfortuantly cant keep this and buy another ride to commute with. Does anyone know what this lag- then resumption in acceleration could be. I notice it mainly in 3rd gear.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Welcome to the forum smokecat,

After a $4g repair, the least you can expect is that it runs properly!

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/l...c-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum! The 3.0 X-Type is a cool car. Had trouble deciding between that and an S-type 4.0 when I finally got a Jag. I'm sure its a fun drive!

Thanks guys-
Bass-Def. is fun to drive w the AWD...bought it in the North for the weather...tire changes mean 4 at the same time tho $$$. I'm sure the 4.0 has some get up..they sure look nice.
So i checked the recommended pages cant find any detail on my issue.
While in 3rd gear if I slow down to 2000RPMs... then hit it....I notice it goes to 3500RPMs and pauses before continuing the acceleration to 4000. The pause always happens at 3500 RPMs even though my foot remains on the peddle accelerating. I do have an ABS and traction control idiot lights lit up on the dash...so maybe that has something to do with it. Let me know if any body has any opinions on what this could be. I got the readings on the lights but close to 20 codes came back. Thanks everybody!
