Hello fellow Jag' enthusiasts
I have owned a 2002 XK8 convertible for several years now, and absolutely love it. I also am about to take delivery on a 2009 XK convertible. I look forward to reading comments and suggestions from fellow enthusiasts in the future.

Hey Stander,
Welcome to the forums. That's a beautiful shot of your XK! Love the colors. So, is the new model replacing the 02, or are you going to keep both? Come hang with us in the XK8/XKR (1997-2006) area a bit, share your experiences with us.

Steve:
Yes - the newer 2009 will replace the 2002. It is bitter-sweet, though. I love the 2002, with its classic shape, the wood-accented interior, and the real convertible look you get when the top is down and the cover still sticks above the back (in the 2009, it virtually disappears). It will be difficult to say goodbye to a car that my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed. However, the 2009 is also a fine looking vehicle, and my cousin who sourced it for me raves about it. Ultimately, I cannot keep both (there is garage space for only one, and my lovely and talented wife would have my hide), so I will be selling the 2002 when the newer one arrives later this month. It's the end of one Jag'. era, and the start of a new one...
