Default Hello Friends - lvl47

Larry Lynch here I am from Palmer Ma. I am 61 and have had Jags on and off for 40 years. Great forum, It would have save me so much time, frustration and loss of knuckel meat. Anyhow thanks to your forum I just finished installing left bank valve cover gasket on my 2000 XJ8. I did use the felt pro Lincoln LS gasket set and it worked fine. My question is if someon can advise me when I pulled the coils there was oil in there? I also read that there is a oil bath for these coils ? Any of you folks know Forest from Springfield he fabricateds Jag parts.

Help if you can

Thank You Larry

If I have violated any form rules or not followed any instructions for new members, please fell free to advise me

Welcome to the forum Larry,

I've moved your post from the end of rowland1906's Intro to a new one of your own so everyone sees it.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Oil in the plug wells is a regular issue when the circular rubber seals in the cam cover fail.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US North East Region forum by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Enjoy the forums.
