Default Hello, here is my Series III XJ6

Hi everyone, I just uploaded a few shots of the car, and wanted to share. I am still taking care of some typical issues before I put it back on the road. I started an album showing some of my projects.

Looking forward to driving it after so much time messing with it.

Looks decent, where do you live? So many S III around here are rusted to pieces, they're not worth saving. Yours sure looks like it's worth the effort.

I'm in San Antonio, TX. Yes the car is definitely worth saving, it has little underbody rust and some little spots at the windshields.

Interior is pretty good. I have had to deal with some peeling wood veneer on the console. It was pretty bad. I used some aircraft remover stripper to get the old varnish off, reglued the wood down bit by bit, clamping each section. After a few weeks of doing that, it was reasonably well attached with some visible signs of cracks, but its much better than before. I sprayed it with several coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane. Leather needs some rejuvenating but it is not bad.

Cleaned out the fuel tanks and am still putting some bits back together. Need to replace the changeover valve, and the oxygen sensor was damaged.

I have seen some bad cars in the junkyards here, but this one was a lucky one. Picked it up on Craigslist. I have seen about 5 others being daily driven and they all looked pretty good.

Thanks for the reply.

PS, I sent you a PM.
