Hello from John in France

Glad to have signed up as a new member on this forum. I've owned and been restoring Jags for the last 36 years. I currently only have one - a Japanese imported XJS Facelift convertible. Strangely its a left hand drive car - apparently a bit of a status symbol in the land of the rising sun. It has spent all of its life in dry climates on salt-free roads but had been horribly modified when I bought it. Suspension lowered by hacking bits off the springs and adding shorter shocks. Rear exhaust boxes were removed and straight through stainless steel pipes were added to give an unnaturally loud growl. Wide wheels with spacers and low profile tyres made the car almost underivable with about 3 inches ground clearance.
I've fixed most of this now but theres still work to do. Currently completing an overhaul of the rear brakes.
