HELLO from New England
Just joining the group. Recently acquired a 1972 XKE V12 2+2. All original, Sable color Cinnamon interior, chrome wire wheels. I will be looking to sort it mechanically first. Needs a water pump, not sure whether to rebuild or replace, or upgrade? Paint is original and needs touch up, the hood was reshot but a terrible color match. The interior has seen better days and I would like to replace it but not sure if a kit from Barrat is the way to go or if I should use a shop? This does not need to be concours, I want a reliable driver. Looking to upgrade the ignition(to electronic) and convert to fuel injection if the gains are worth it. May also consider a five speed, if future market would support it.
I would appreciate any help or input as I proceed through this project.
