Default Hello from north east England.

Hello everyone.

finally, I own a Jaguar!

The car I’ve bought is a 1990 XJ8 LWB Sovereign. I think it’s Bordeaux red. With cream interior.

the car has done 89k miles, it looks absolutely immaculate from what I can see, there are a few small issues, such as headliner sagging central locking not working, but apart from that all seems good.

ive noticed it’s got a small oil leak coming from somewhere in the engine bay.

I think, at heart I’ve always been a jag man, as a child we used to the Jaguar club meet at harewood house, my dad has had many jaguars over the years, such as, XJS, XK40, 2 XF’s and currently has a F type P340.

seen this XJ8 going cheap so thought why not. So far, it’s been hit with everyone who’s seen it.

i plan on selling my Range Rover sport and buying a 4.2 XKR X150 later on in the year.

Joined the forum in order to gain a bit of mechanical knowledge, research information and hopefully find a well looked after XKR !

Marc.

Hello, Marc,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar, and in RED!!
89K miles is just now well broken in and loosened up for a modern engine. You should easily get another 150K miles out of it at least. And, for a 32 year old car, the problems you mention are totally repairable and not surprising..

Welcome to the forums form ElinorB.
