Smile Hello from Russia!

Hello comrades!

I own a fantastic emerald fire 2.0D Jaguar X-Type since 2012.
Have been reading this forum all this time, joined only recently.

Lot's of things have been done, lot's of ideas still pending.

What I've done to it and never regretted
- blanked out EGR
- installed bigger intercooler
- cut out the catalytic converter
- installed twin-pipe exhaust from 2.5l version
- remapped twice Stage 1 -> Stage 2

During the first years of ownership it was a headache. Limp mode on every acceleration. Dealer's garages couldn't sort that out.
I guess, I have to thank the users of this forum, as I have found lot's of different solutions which I have tried and everything's perfect now.

I am a real hobbyist with great amount of ideas attacking me.
Here they are
  • keyless entry
Opens and closes the car when you approach or depart. The phone acts as a beacon. I have got it running in a test environment, but couldn't find the way to intercept the frequency of the key...

  • adaptive cruise control
A lidar can be installed under the hood to measure distances to the next car. Steering wheel cruise control buttons can be tied to microcontroller. I have bought a lidar but I'm not sure I'll be doing it.
Actually I bought an electric streering wheel column to build a full autopilot. Hope I'll get to it someday

  • lazy turn signals
Always wanted to add this to my Jag. All modern cars have that neat feature. Definitely my next must do.

  • bluetooth audio adapter
That one is ready. A bluetooth adapter with steering wheel controls for music and calls. Will be selling them as DIY kits.

  • auto trunk open
Would love the trunk to open automatically. Tried different types of springs with no luck.

  • leg swipe trunk opener
Already installed a distance measure sensor in the bumper lip. Will need to incorporate the logic of opening with the vehicle state (moving / opened / closed).

Also I have decided to learn how to spray paint it by myself and successfully did it last year.

My friends borrowed me a throw away fender

I have re-lived it

Painted it

Looks like new!

Going to repeat the paint job with the hood and the roof this summer. They need renewal badly.

From now on I will be sharing with you. Hope to manage all my projects with the help of your community.

Welcome to the forums Jagaux,

Your post was automatically locked for moderation which is why you have not received any replies. I have read through it carefully to find why and the only thing I can find is under bluetooth "..... selling them as DIY kits". We have rules about advertising on the forum and this could have been the reason.

An impressive paint job and list of other work completed.

It sound like you have already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Congratulations on all your successful repairs and upgrades!
I've done auto body painting, and know what it takes to lay down a paint job that looks that good!
In fact, I have a little job coming up soon. Are you interested in taking it on for me? LOLOL

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks everyone!
I'm at your service, LnrB! Always happy to help with what I can.

By the way, Graham. What if I would be making a thread about any of the listed devices for sale? Will that be a violation of the forum rules?
In particular, I wanted to start a thread about that Bluetooth adapter DIY kit, but I'm not sure if I can.

Members can advertise only in MARKETPLACE after a minimum number of posts and period of membership. See my guidance here:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...efore-posting/

Advertising in Model or Region forums is NOT allowed.Only forum Sponsors and Vendors can post adverts there.

You could put a post in X-Type forum describing your bluetooth adapter and saying you will be listing a DIY kit in MARKETPLACE. As long as it's just a topic for discussion, that will be OK.

Graham
