hello from Sacramento
First time here, first jaguar...2003 x-type.
I got it just month ago & I love it, small story here, I purchase this car from a Craigslist list guy, I am glad I took this car away from this guy...the car has not being taking care the way it should, I didn't notice that is not loaded...the back speakers are missing, rear lights not working, parking sensors not working, driver seat leather scratch up, passenger side cables are expose under the compartment glove box, air stinks like urine, so far I found one cable from engine fuse box hanging in there.. doing nothing don't know what is for, I change the cabin filter thanks to you guys ..I read most of your stories , thank you, so far slowly I will take care of it...
I will add navigation system, speakers, nice carpet, lights for the hood and the trunk because I can't see what is in there at night, oh! one more thing the car has a rattling thing going on..previous owner remove the back seats maybe is that.
I am from Sac. California .

Welcome to the forum,
Congratulations on rescuing this stray cat. Sounds like its found a good home.
Makes you wonder why someone would have a Jaguar and then treat it like this.
Remember to add vehicle details to your signature to help others give you relevant information.

+1 on the useful advice already given.........
The X trype is a great car and love the AWD.
Please do yourself a huge favour and check out the X type FAQ quick link thread in the X type section.............loads of info there for you my friend as well as some really knowledgable and helpful guys to boot.
If the smells that bad after a good clean and or replacing the carpets running an AC leaner through the system will help
