Default Hello from Shropshire UK

Hi, I've been lurking around for a little while, gathering information as I recently bought myself a 2003 XJ6 Sport.
Great car so far, apart from a flash code 17 which up to now I haven't cured?
I thought the Volvo S60 T5 which it replaced was quite refined until I jumped into the Jaguar.
So anyway, expect a few stupid questions people while I find my way around. Although I'm pretty useful with a spanner (I'm an Industrial Engineer by trade), so the majority of work I will be doing myself. In fact I've already had the passenger seat out looking for clues on this code 17 issue!

Welcome to the forum GMad,

My favourite Flash Code and now an MoT fail in the UK. Check this thread for info on my saga with Code 17:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...de-17-a-94959/

Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X350 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK Region section by following this link UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Excellent and thankyou Graham.
I've had a read through that and it looks like I could have several potential culprits here?
The grubbing around shall continue!

YES - there's several sensors and modules can contribute to Code 17 and there's component differences across the model ranges.

Good luck with the grubbing around !

Thank you Jim, I am already enjoying and appreciating this forum, more so than the Volvo forum.
So far everyone has been very welcoming and very helpful.
I was enjoying Jaguar ownership before I joined, but now it's getting better.
