Default Hello from Texas

Hello, I have just joined the forum after visiting many times. I have been a Jaguar enthusiast for over 30 years. I have worked in the wholesale Jaguar parts business for many years in the past and also been involved in many restorations, from XK120/140/150 to E-types to Mark 2 & 5 to more modern XJ6 series 3, X300, XJS and now own a 2008 XK (in addition to a 1996 XJ6 which I've owned for many years).

My first Jag was a 1969 E-type which I was lucky enough to buy at the young age of 24 (after saving and scraping together the funds); since then I've owned many XJ6 series 3, XJS, and a more recently, a 1996 XJ6 (hands down, the most dependable car I have EVER owned, bar none).

I am quite familiar with the older cars and the X300 series, but my newer XK seems a bit daunting... many more electronics than I am used to. Excited about owning a sport coupe again, but admittedly a bit worried about reliability. From what I understand, the XK's can be reminiscent of the electrical issues that came with Lucas many years ago... just hoping I can provide the TLC needed to keep it running and enjoyable.

Glad to be here and look forward to participating!

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the XK/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
