Default Hello from Texas, USA

I am a proud owner of a 2017 Jaguar XF that is beginning to show signs of old age. This is my 4th one and most probably the last Jaguar i will own (so sad), so I am trying to take good care of it. I will need your expertise to keep it running in perfect condition. Thx in advance e!

Welcome to the Forums.

Yes, my 1963 Jag takes some TLC, but since there are NO computers etc, simple as it comes.

Good luck.

As Big Tex says at our State Fair, "Howdy". Given what Jaguar has done to their brand and especially to their dealer network, can't say I blame you. I've already moved on but I haven't sold off or traded in my last two Jaguar sedans either, largely because I feel like they are still worth a whole lot more to me than the general public is willing to pay for a Jaguar. I still like them a lot and drive them around town, but my local independent mechanic is scheduling appointments months out and I just don't want to get stuck hundreds of miles from home without a dealer network to help if one breaks down so I bought a 2024 Ford last summer (a Ford dealer in just about every county across America).

A 2017 should still have a lot of life left in it, especially when enthusiast-owned and maintained. This forum is the place to be. Read the appropriate section.( X260 ) religiously and follow the forum's advice on maintenance schedule (not the Jaguar Marketing Department's maintenance schedule) and it will last a long, long time. Granted, no amount of fluid, belt and hose changes can prevent little electronic gizmos (sensors, solenoids, circuit boards, etc.) from randomly going bad so if you do drive it regularly beyond Houston across our vast state, its not a bad idea to have a AAA Premier membership or similar because the towing policy will tow you up to 200 miles (that'll get your XF all the way back to your favorite indie in Houston from Austin or San Antonio) and provide trip interruption insurance (I think its one hotel night, a day's worth of meals and a day's rental car ). It does cost us a little bit extra to not have to rely on our license plate number to recognize our car in the grocery store parking lot, but its well worth it. Good luck.

Hello, Amanda,
I agree, there is Nothing in the Jaguar lineup for the last several years I would be interested in either.
And the "new ones?!" will Never darken the door of my garage.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

YES!!
Membership fees for the Premier level will pay for themselves if you need to have even ONE short tow (20 miles).

Soon as Nix came to live with us husband increased our membership for exactly that reason. In the beginning she needed transport about once a month. I was on First Name basis with the flat bed driver, and it didn't cost me anything but slight inconvenience..... a Lot less than a night on the town!
