Welcome.

They are ALL for keeps, just some are more a "favourite" than others.

Well done.

Welcome to the forum Rob,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Many different models badged XJ6 but from the engine size I think yours will be the 1995/97 Sovereign? If so, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Well sad to say the XJ fell through. The pictures sent did not match the car presented after an 80 mile train ride. Erratic misfire, various electrical switches broken or missing and minor rust on the front wings meaning mudflaps have fallen off due to no metal left. Seen better cars in the wreckers yard. Luckily found a 2001 S-type which is near mint so that might be on the drive tonight.

Sorry to hear you had a wasted journey. I hope the S-Type deal works out.

It did. Drives like a new car and has full history from new. It's had an autobox overhaul 6000 miles ago and all the toys work. 127000 on the clock but well looked after. Saphire blue with coffee coloured leather interior and light walnut.

Good news.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Regularly used, well maintained Jaguars always give less trouble than pampered 'weekend' cars.

Anyone want a 2001 S type. I just happened to land myself a 1999 XJ8 which has led a cosseted life. The grin is from ear to ear.
