Default Hello from the UK

Just a quick hi to everyone, as the title says I am from the UK and one or two members might even reconise me from Pistonheads (is that a swear word around here )....

I have my manual XK8 track car (which I will finish one day and stop playing with )

A 2000 XKR which I have stroked to a 4.2 (nikasil engine)

And a bit of a favorite for me, my XJS Monaco conversion

I have been 'tinkering' with Jags for many years and it would be good to talk to a few like minded people......Thanks

welcome aboard XKRacer great to have a true enthusiast and collector like you as part of the site, and always good to have another UK member.
Our American / Canadian cousins outnumber us about 1000 - 1...lol
As for being a member of pistonheads? Cool, no problem here with that or any other site.
We discourage anyone from banging on about or name calling other marques / forums as much as possible and try to be a car enthusiast forum, generally, mostly about Jags of course
Upgraded to FFA so you can enjoy the whole site, so for gods sake man if you have pics of those beauties get em posted

Welcome to the forum. Please feel free to jump right in and help us make it better. I can tell immediately that your 'tinkering' is way out of my league! But even so I look forwasrd to reading your posts. If I don't have the background to fully understand you, I still may enjoy learning something 'from afar'.

Thanks for the welcome

Here's is a pic of my XJS

My track car is a bit of a mess but I will post a pic of the multi coloured thing I have done, I painted it with whatever colour I had laying around just so I could mould the panels But I guess you could call it a bit patriotic

This is my old XKR, I must admit I have sold this car But I made the front section from carbon fibre, not that it was leight weight but more for show

This is my new/old XK, I have had it for a few months now but I bought it with a blown engine which I have rebuilt and stroked to a 4.2, lots of pretty shiney bits have been added.

But the bodywork will eventually look like this

Thanks for the upgrade so I can share some of my pics hope you enjoy them.

WElcome, you are a real motorhead
The last black car is awesome and stunning

Thanks for the welcome

The wheels on the black XKR are Aston DBS (good spot)

The Monaco was built by myself and not done in house by Paul Bailey, he sold the moulds years ago to.....I think his name was Bob Tiley? Of www.V12sales.com based in Texas so if you wanted to do one you still can.
Mine has a revised bonnet as I had an XKR engine in there with a dodge viper 6 speed manual box and needed more clearance, but I have since put it back to standard and used the box in my XK8.

Also done a few other tweeks to my XK8 like below

Wow, that XJS Monaco is sweet. I have always loved the XJS and that one is really something special.
