Hellooo
Hello and welcome to another Calif Jaaaag owner..
There is a section here for mechanics, just scroll down to the "Regional" and "Western US" and there's a sticky for west coast mechanics...

No - but if you send me the airline ticket I'd be more than happy to come over and help you look for one in Santa Barbara.
Now for a more serious suggestion. Head on to the X-Type section and get to know more about your vehicle. Even if you don't plan on doing the maintenance yourself, just knowing what needs to be done and having an idea of how it's done makes Jaguar ownership a much better experience.

Thanks all! I got a very, very good deal on an 04 X-Type with 50K miles. It's in purrrrfect condition except....the oil pan seal needs replacing and the o-rings on the A/C compressor.
Let me start by saying that there are numerous sham/scam people wanting to work on your Jag here in SB but I've only found 1 to be honest. His name is Bob and he owns his own garage called East West auto. He quoted me 1400 to deal with both items, which I was ready to do. However, I called the broker who sold me the car to see if he would go half with me but instead he said that his mechanic would take car of it for me this Saturday for $300 - because the broker just opened his own business and he wants me to remain a good client.
I also took you guy's advice about the regional forums and found someone in Pasadena who quoted $880 for the oil pan and $500 for a new compressor...FYI.
Happy days
