Default Hey from the UK

Hey everyone,

First of all thanks to the community for helping me to diagnose and solve the dreaded 'cruise not available' error with my X-type. I've now got a new jag (2005 s type) and a new problem, which I will be sure to ask for help about shortly!

I've always loved jags, my Dad had an XJ when I was growing up. He drove it into the ground (almost 200k miles) and towards the end of its life it kept on screwing up with numerous issues. It made me think that jags are just lovely moneypits, yet now I find myself driving one!

Ive had some real bad luck with my cars over the last few years. I kind of thought that it was impossible to have a used car without a few serious problems, but I now seem to have found a true gem of car, a 2005 facelift s type that looks and feels like it has just strolled off the production line. It's one of those cars where I am constantly going out for aimless drives. I sometimes even go and just sit inside it when it's parked! It has a small gearbox issue but in general I am a happy guy...

Anyway I shall stop drooling over my car now... Thanks again for all the advice you have all given me and for any future problems you will help me troubleshoot. You seem to have a nice community that I am glad to be a part of. Cheers, Rich.

Hello, Rich,
It's good to know others think of Jags as "lovely money pits." I would say that's what mine has become, except that there's nothing much left to sink money in! Almost everything has been fixed, changed, repaired, refurbished or replaced.

Now I'm looking forward to years of trouble free driving. LOLOL

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
