Hello everyone, new Jag owner here. I've got a 1997 Jaguar XK8 in immaculate condition 28,000 miles. I just got it used, and so just looking to address any common issues that may arise soon, but wow does it drive nice =)

First time with a convertible and so I'm loving that.

A really good friend mjlaris told me about this forum, and I thought I'd sign up and introduce myself, so HELLO!

Just got it, so I'm looking forward to putting miles on it, and adding mods so it can look fresh.

Follow JameyXJ6's link to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is always a good place to start for info on regular issues. If you're new to this model, check the threads on tensioners and cooling system issues. These are the two main weaknesses.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Thanks everyone for your great advice I will be visiting the links and utilizing the forum.

I'm starting to understand the common problems, per my dear friend, alas haven't found a good shop to take it to, the one I was referred to said didn't service older Jags, so I hope to find someone who specializes in older Jags.

@jamiexk6 Yes, today in Vegas: 70 degrees today beautiful no clouds and drove with the top down. Just exhilarating.

I think I should take a nice drive and take a photo for you all with a nice background. So far I just took pics in parking lots and my garage. Time to take a drive to Red Rock =) then I will add the nicer pics in my signature, for now, I'll put what I have.
