Default HI

Hello I am a Jaguar lover. Having owned previously a 1994 and 1996 XJS convertible straight line six. Loved them both. Life difficulties developed and I sold my beautiful 94 Starting over I came upon a great deal for a 1999 XJ8 Vanden Plas. Absolutely love the car. Every single thing works. Interior isn't all chewed up and paint job still holding up, but will need addressed here in the next few years. I took it my Jaguar guy (35 years experience) as the check engine light came on and the car seemed to not be getting enough gas. First point He disappointed me when I put 1600 in fixing the sir in the 94 XJS and it still didn't work right. 2nd point I am blonde female, third point he wants $1000 to replace 2 oxygen sensors??? Could that be right. Seems way over priced to me. Any advice on???
Thanks Michelle

Welcome to the forum Michelle,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

That seems a lot of money to me but costs are different on this side of the Atlantic. US members in the X308 tech section will know what it should be.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/l...c-sc-fl-ga-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

From the SC lowcountry - welcome to the forum - you'll find plenty of info and support here to keep the Jag running. Not sure on the prices but I'm sure some of the techs may be able to better advise

Check out the XJ8 (X308) section for a ton of info - how to's, downloads, etc - specifically within the first few posts:

XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Also check out the Lower Atlantic regional section for local events/news (may even be some indie recommendations for Myrtle Beach area

Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

lastly - recommend adding a signature to your profile by clicking the User CP link in the upper left - include model and year for best responses to your questions

Enjoy
