Default Hi All, New member here!

As a 20+ year member on an exotic car forum, I'm excited to join this group! Never thinking I'd own the brand, I could not resist pulling the trigger on a new to me mint condition 2008 XKR. Living in Goodyear, AZ, I found this midnight beauty in Nor Cal where I caught a flight this week to Sacramento, rented a car and drove to Sonora to pick it up. What a great drive I had in this machine right off the bat, about 700 miles back home. The drive was effortless and the excitement of owning this car kept me awake and alert!

I'm hopeful to meet new friends here and learn more about the nuts and bolts of ownership!

Well thank you very much and for the others who chimed in as well. As for the color 'Black', the Midnight color in the daylight certainly appears black but in dimmer light conditions, the deep blue comes out and it's such a beautiful color. As for the body style, IMO, its superb to the 360 and I can't relish the thought of draping a car cover on it, it's just too purdy to look at in the garage and makes me smile!

My XK still has the same effect for me even after five years. The F-Pace doesn't generate the same visual appeal!

Greetings here Peter,

I have known Peter for 20 years in the other forum he referred to. I have always found his posts to be thoughtful, and interesting. He has proven to be a true auto enthusiast with a wide range of other interests and skills.

Well, thank you Paul, much appreciate. If you all enjoy a twisted sense of humor and occasional rants, I'm the one!

The rants are legendary on the other site and the sense of humor blends perfectly with mine. I came very close to buying his current "new Jag" but passed due to the color. I had a bad experience with a black car. yeah yeah, I know it is not black but the dark dark blue is close enough, but the good news is, had I bought that car he would not be a new member here now.

My last rant was taking the 360 to my shop believing the work needed was around $1800 and it turned out to be around $12K all-in! OK, sold the 360 and bought the XKR. DAMN! Nothing yet to rant about so you guys will need to wait a while! Seeing how solid this car is, it may be a while!

I was at the Jag dealer in Tempe last week and looked at the new F-Type. Beautiful car but it's minus the rear seat that I really enjoy having in the 2008. With roughly a price point of $85K, it's quite tempting to swing into a new one but I can not think of any reason to sell the one I have now.

I’ve got the same 2008 XKR black with 42k miles. I’ve only got 132 miles on it but I love it.

I probably put that many miles on it today from Goodyear AZ to running around Scottsdale and back. I was wondering if these cars ever die!
