Hello all

New member here and first time Jaguar owner. In fact, I haven't even taken delivery yet but I'm so excited about it I thought I'd join up and post a picture anyway. Hoping to take delivery of my 2006 XKR in the next couple of weeks after she's been serviced. MOT'd and had a couple of small blemishes taken care of. She's Frost Blue with the Cream interior, I'm usually very level-headed when I go to look at a potential car purchase but I fell for this car the minute I saw her. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas Day here, this is by far the best car I've ever owned and collection day can't come soon enough.

All the best,
Simon

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Forums seem to be an active and friendly place so I've no doubt I'll visit often.

Collected the car yesterday, so much better than I remember on the test drive. The inside is spotless and still smells of leather. Fuses 19 and 4 were removed before I set off and they certainly won't be going back in. A nice surprise when I got home and started going through the extensive history, was the original invoice when the car was new. Attached below, but redacted due to paranoia (doesn't mean they're not out to get me, right?)

Just a quick question which doesn't really warrant its own thread: If the drivers door handle does not have a locking button, does that mean the car does not have keyless entry? I had previously assumed (wrongly) that keyless entry was a standard feature but the car certainly doesn't automatically unlock when I grab the handle. The key works in all other aspects. Before discovering keyless entry was an option I went looking in the passenger compartment at Fuse 3 (Keyless module) and Fuse 19 (RF receiver) on the back of another thread on here, which are both good. If the lack of a button means it doesn't have the feature, I'll stop looking for issues!

Simon,

You are unlikely to have keyless entry on a 2006. This is the keyless entry door handle on my 2014:

The standard entry door handle doesn't have the black button insert.
