Hi Folks,

Looks like a lovely forum here. I'm from Manchester U.K and I've got a couple of classic BMW's and have always liked the look of an XJC.

I thought I would say hello and learn more about these cars. I would definitely consider an XJ6C from America as I'm guessing the body will be in much better condition.

Thanks!

Hi xj6coupelover,

I'm new here myself, but welcome.

I've owned an XJC here in Australia since 1992, and because of our climate rust isn't too much of an issue. Rusty coupes here are generally imported cars.

US coupes I think will generally be a better proposition than anything you will find in the UK, but some places in the US have very harsh winters (and summers) so you'll have to be careful also.

Cheers

Thank you both, appreciate the warm welcome

This is my current project: bmwe21.net forums ? View topic - Project E3 is Go! 2014

Despite living my whole life in the U.K, I actually prefer left hand drive as I plan to emigrate to the states or Canada one day.

I agree Phill, I guess I'm focussing on finding a car from California or Arizona, but then who isn't!

I'll be sure to check out the XJ6 section in detail Elinor

Welcome to the forum xj6coupelover,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I'd have been tempted to keep the French plates on the BMW!

I always liked the coupe when it was current but had to settle for the four door XJ6 at the time.

Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Thank you so much, thanks Clarke. Graham, thanks for the links. I actually have a car in mind, but rather than go for an impulse buy I will educate myself on this forum and similar. If you know of any XJ6 coupes, left hand drive in the U.K, engine can be pants, please let me know.

Thanks again,
