Smile Hi everybody, new member

Hi, my name is Richard and I live in Orlando, Florida. I owned my first Jaguar back in England in 94, an XJ40. First time I owned two cars my mum asked me why I wanted two as I could only drive one at a time. I said I wanted seven, one for each day of the week.
Currently have 1985 XJS V12 coupe with 97,000 mile, bought in New Jersey 6 years ago and undergoing major restoration.
An 89 XJ6 Vanden Plas, my ex wife trashed it and I may just use it for parts.
A 91 XJ6 Sovereign. I just cranked this over after not using for 6 years. Had to do a bit of rewiring under the hood, rats had been nesting and chomping. It has done 102,000 miles. Have a rear end noise, sounds like a bad UJ, after that gets fixed, in for a respray, little bit of wood refinishing, and I will drive this one again.
Another 91 Sovereign bought without title for spare parts.
Love of my life, excepting my pets, a 1992 XJS V12 Convertible. Black with beige rag top. This car has now done 114,000 miles. Has one weird problem which I am still investigating, well to tell the truth been investigating on and off for a few years. I opened the roof one day, just to clean back seat, and after I put it back down, I had lost the electric power brake boost. Temporarily rewired under dash and it works, but still trying to track down real problem. Oh and it has a bad water pump. No leak just overheats a bit. Why water pump, cos I stole it from 85 model, and the 85 used to overheat with that water pump.
Hoping to make some friends here and have a forum to bounce ideas off, or ask for help. Always willing to help others with their Jags or lawnmowers.
Richard

Hello, Richard,
Most Jaguar owners have more than one car. That's so they have something to drive when their Jaguar quits. HAHAHA

You'll enjoy our XJS section, those guys know Everything about those cars.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks ElinorB, yep, I heard that one when I lived in England, if you have one Jag you better buy a second. I just love the style of the older models.
Your XJ6 looks smart. Why the comment about a bigger hammer?
Again thanks for the welcome
Richard

Hi Jim, a Scotsman eh, good on you laddie. First place I ever drank Newcastle broon ale was in Glasgow. Whoa, I was about 19 and one bottle had me swaying.
Been in the states since 97, still miss the fish and chips and the bangers and mash. Strangely enough today I am making steak and kidney pie for dinner. Would you believe it, I had to special order the kidneys. I keep telling Americans, they don't know what they are missing.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome my friend.
Richard
