Hi... New to Jaguars...need advice
Hi. I bought recently a 2002 S type and I love it. I live in an area with terrible roads so I use it sparingly.
I just bought a 1993 XJ6 Sovereign to go with it. I love it also. I´ve had tons of cars and these are the most comfortable and best handling yet.
I was warned about XJ6´s leaking a lot. I bought one from a used car dealer and after I got home I smelled gas. The salesman said he pulled off the breather tube by mistake and gave it to me.
Today it was checked by my mechanic and he says the seal between the fuel filler and the fuel tank is leaking gas.
Now I can´t use the car I just got.
Is this going to be a difficult part to get? Any other advice about these cars for me? Thanks everybody

Thanks Cadillac. I like that xj40, except that it has to be fixed right from the get go. I could have bought it privately if I planned on doing that. But I´ve never driven anything like that 2002 S Type. I´m in heaven with that car.
As an aside. I also bought the S type´s cousin, a 2004 Lincoln LS. I´ve had it two weeks and went on my first road trip today. It´s a six cylinder. It started bucking and hesitating on acceleration and hills and now the check engine light is on.
There´s a warranty on it, but a trip to the dealer is an all day on my day off event for me.
That´s what I got for trading in a practically new Sentra with no problems. But I wanted more comfort and something that had similar engineering to the S type.

Official Jaguar Nut....
I got my first Jag only a month ago. The wonderful 2002 S Type. Thursday I bought it a companion. A 1993 XJ6 Sovereign. The fuel leak ended up being just a leaky hose. This after my mechanic had me chasing a non existent seal and telling me that he was going to have to remove the fuel tank.
Well the day after I bought the 93 XJ6 an ad on craigslist appeared for a 92 XJ6 Sovereign with only 80K miles in great shape and cheaper.
I went to see it today and the owner, Clive, gave me a great deal on his old beauty. Maintenance records and books going back to day one. Even had the original price sticker (monroney?).
So inside of a month I´ve gone from never owning a jaguar to having three.
I´ll post pics of the new one later.
I´ll really need you people now.
