New member. Also from Chattanooga! Just bought a 2003 XJ8, 85,000 mi. ChattaJag, have you found any independant mechanics in the area? I am not relishing getting repairs done at the dealer...

I'm new to all this, too. Just bought a 2000 XKR convertible. 95,000miles. Made an appointment (for next week) with Chattanooga dealer to have the 100,000 mile service done and a good check of the vehicle.

Warnings, suggestions, reassurances???

Was looking at various options for my "mid-life crisis car" and once I drove an XKR I knew I was home. Porsche's were cool, but I'm a V8 guy. Really liking the XKR and the convertible. Planning our first afternoon foray for tomorrow.
