Default Hi for Texas

Hello yall. I'm really excited to do work on this car and return it to its former glory and beyond. I must say the jaguar is the most difficult car I've ever worked on. I have a list of things I want to do with the car.

2004 jaguar s-type 4.2l v8
Change: calipers, rotors, catalytic converter (2). Engine coils, spark plugs.
Install: coilovers, and the big one if possible. A TURBO KIT. To make it a twin turbo.
I love this car and plan on keeping it until its in the ground.
right now it has this problem "restricted performance". I believe this is because of the catalytic converters but yal know this car parts are $$$. I'll keep on the updates and any and all help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Ocoopa,

For the 'restricted performance', get a code reader on it before splashing the cash. Throwing parts at a Jaguar soon gets to be a very expensive approach to troubleshooting.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ed-v8-x200-15/ to the S-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!

Yes!! For those of us who grew up working on Fords or Chevys, it's like Jaguar found the most difficult and needlessly complex way to do nearly Everything. But soon you'll figure out how Jaguar "thinks" and it will be better.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
