Default Hi there! New member from the Netherlands

Hi All,

Greetings from a rainy Holland. I live in Voorburg, a town close to The Hague.

I was infected with Jaguar enthusiasm in 1975 when I was 9. We, well my dad, bought a series 1.5 E-Type (OTS) in Brunei. It was in a sorry state. It literally had chicken and goats using it as their playground. Rumours said that the car was once owned by Brunei Royalty.

Needless to say, we still have the car. The heritage has been confirmed by the JDHT. It is in good running order. (see picture).

I would say I know a lot about E-Types. I'll try to be active in that section.

I also have a (troublesome) 1998 3.2 litre XJ8 (X308). I just replaced the coolant pump. The impeller was completely disintegrated. now the sidelights and console lights won't come on....... Not a clue where to look.....

Regards,

Leo Bink

In Brunei, we painted the registration on the bonnet (hood). It has not been resprayed since. The number plate is the Dutch one. Unfortunately Dutch law requires you to hae a government issues plate. You can't go Italian with a small plate or British with a sticker....

Sure hope someone can help me with my X308 issue....

Leo

I had a sticker on the bonnet of mine but that was in 1972. We'd be lucky to get away with that in the UK now and would have to fit a standard 'Europlate'.
