Default Hoping...

Hello folks. Been lurking for a few weeks trying to get information regarding a prospective purchase. Had some issues setting up the account but finally got it to work. Test drove the car last weekend. Waiting to get a PPI done and am concerned that the car will be sold before the dealer can see the car. Help talk me down from the ledge. So close and yet so far ...lol.

Ironically, it is the same exact car as yours, except black. Was in an accident back in 2005 according to carfax. It is a driver, i.e. not perfect on the outside, but I think a good detail job with some touch up paint will do wonders. I already ordered the book from Amazon about buying XK/XKRs and am awaiting delivery.

Can you tell me if the tensioner is an issue for this MY?

Pretty sure brakes were done by the current owner who has had it for the past 5 years. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

RCSign: Just realized that yours is the Silverstone (limited) so it is not the "exact" same other than the year (2001) and type (xkr). Also, the one I am interested in is a coupe. Do you know what year the trim on the trunk started being offered in black? Or is that a mod that some folks do by painting? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature when you get it. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.
