Default Howdy!

I've been lurking since I started getting serious about buying my first Jag. And I thought I should finally both register and introduce myself. In January my wife and I bought a '98 XJ8 VDP with exactly 37k mi on it. Thanks to all the good advice here, the first thing we did was drive it to the mechanic and have the water pump and timing chain tensioner replaced. Thus far we've really loved the car. So, thanks for all the advice and help you didn't know you were giving. :-)

I do,. :-) Mostly because I drive fewer miles. We've put a whole 1000 miles on it in the 4 months we've had it.

Another welcome from me Shane, feel free to stick around, enjoy the community, stay up on current events, and continually learn about your car, and its quirks.

Seattle...does it really rain as much as they say it does?

Nope. It rains more. :-) Actually, it doesn't really rain all that much in volume. It just weeps lightly for 9 months a year. But I have a nice place in the garage for the jag.

Hi Shane

Glad you took the advice re cam chain tensioners. These are an engine wrecker, water pump less so, but better to replace. You should now have many happy miles of Jaguar motoring in front of you.
