Default Howdy! New to the Forum!

I wanted to jump in and say hello to everyone. I am diligently searching for a used Jag, and absorbing info like a sponge. I think that I am going to select the "S" or the "XK" coupe, circa 2000-2002. It is in my range of affordability, and still has the classic look. If you care to offer an opinion of either model, I would certainly appreciate the feedback! I look forward to getting to know each of you over the next few years!

Hello and welcome! Here are some biased opinions lol! : I suggest that you don't buy a 2000-2002 S-Type, the interior is just not befitting a Jaguar. In 2003, this problem was resolved (and the engines became more efficient, and the gearbox added a cog, up to 6spds) The 2000 XK8 needs polish, but the 2001-02 models are perfect looking. So, if I were currently shopping, in that segment, I would also consider the XJ8 or XJR, they can be great deals in that year range.

So, my opinion is,
No 00-02 S-Type, ('03 or newer)
No 2000 XK8 coupe, (2001-2002 look better!)

Consider an XJ maybe, I've loved mine.

Also note that the 2000-02 S-Type has the lowest power output of any Jaguar-branded V8, at 282hp.

Welcome to the forum and have a good car search.

Welcome, XKs may become more chick magnets than S Type but S Type being a 4 door sedan is more practical .
A friend on the X350 Forums is trying to sell his XJ for new XKs too .

Welcome to the forum,

If you want an S I'd advise trying to stretch to an 03 or newer as there was a major facelift at that point, this also holds true for the XK, however imho it's not such a clear cut decision.
