Smile Howdy from North Texas...

I'm a newly signed up member to Jaguar Forums, but have been lurking for years. This past week, I became the proud owner of a Jaguar certified pre-owned 2011 XJ L in Vapour Gray. It's a late 2009 build, but with only 19,000 mi and an in-service date of Feb 2012! Apparently, this was an untitled Jaguar USA corporate vehicle in California for it's first 12,000 miles, and then titled and sold to it's first owner in Lee's Summit, MO in Feb. 2012. What this all means is that I've got two years of original vehicle warranty left (including the normal scheduled maintenance), and an additional year of certified pre-owned warranty coverage extending to Feb. 2018!

Previously, I owned a 2004 X-Type 2.5 in BRG, purchased used in 2006. After serving six years as the vehicle that both of my kids drove to high school (and learned how to drive a stick), I used it as my 65 mi/day commuter. Totaled up about 120K miles in over eight years, with nothing much more than routine maintenance (there was one new clutch, see the teaching duty above!). That car was an absolute blast to drive!

Thanks to all of you that run this forum site, and to all of you others that contribute you knowledge and experience to help me learn more about these fine motorcars.

Cheers...

John

People with Jags live in Gunter now? OMG. Next weekend is Cars and Coffee in Plano. I would love to have a group of us modern Jag guys (txevora, waltb, me) show up.
If you find an *active* Jag group in north Texas send me a PM. I'm in to racing and would like to do more events. Txevora does track racing. Waltb has done drag racing with me.
You? Cruising? Racing? Shows? What made you pick the XJ? Beautiful car by the way!

Hello, John,
After 12,000 miles all the bugs should be worked out and fixed under factory care. Good deal for you!
welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum John,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you already know your way around the tech forums so there's no need for links it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
