Hello there. I just purchased my first car from across the pond also. This Vanden Plas is for my wife, although I've driven more these few days since purchasing it. hehe

If this one goes well, I may look at an XK for myself.

See ya around.

There is a thread in the Help and Suggestions section about how to post pics.

If you get stuck, give a shout and we will walk you through it.

Smile Well, here she is. Ain't she a 'beaut??.

Here is my new dream come true....

Well, it is not actually here right now... It is at the Jaguar dealership having a full service, new brakes installed front and back, a new relay installed for the climate control blower, new weatherstripping around all the doors and convertible top, and a new keyless remote being programmed (only came with one).

Now, to pay for it all, if I can just get someone to buy one of my unemployed sedentary teenaged children. I am offering 10% off...

Default Our first Jaguar!

Friends took us to dinner a month ago in a XJ8L and my wife and I were sold.
Super smooth ride and and beautiful interior. We now have our own 2007 Radiant red XJ8 Vanden Plas. MY wife Ann has an 07 Solstice GXP for summer and the Jag will be the winter car althou the weather here in Connecticut has been so bad I take her everywhere in my Chevy S-10 which is completely equiped with (Nothing) Last time it had heated seats is when I spilled my hot coffee. We are both delighted with her Jaguar.

Beautiful machine!!! (Of course, I am kinda partial to Radiant Red.) For a road trip or going out with another couple, the XJ8L/VDP can't be beat (ours is Zircon Blue).

Always remember: If you are going to arrive, you simply must arrive in a Jaguar.

Congrats

Default My X-Type

Thank you for the Pic. Great looking car. My X-Type probably doesn't live up to the class, but I like it and think it has style. There is just something about driving a Jag. Good Riding!!

Another Solstice driver! I just sold my Victory Red 2008 Solstice to buy the XK. I know of several people on the Solstice blogs that sold/traded Solstices for XKs. The Solstice was a blast to drive, but was a bit underpowered. The GXP was the answer to that problem. I will miss the Solstice (and its sister car, the Saturn Sky) as both were beautiful cars and unfortunate victims of the GM bankrupcy

My wife drives a Land Rover LR3 we bought new in 2006. Like the Jaguar, the LRs have a poor maintanence reputation but it turns out that our LR3 is the most reliable vehicle we have ever owned. It has had exactly two minor service issues since the day we drove it out of the showroom. More importantly, in the snow storm we just had down here, the LR3 was AMAZING! I have driven all sorts of vehicles in the snow (originally from NY), but nothing touches the LR for plowing through anything.

Third vehicle is a 2007 F-150 Supercrew. Nothing special, just a nice truck that rides like a limo. Seriously, it is actually the most comfortable vehicle I own and has the tourque of an Abrams tank...

But the XK is my dream car. It is pure sex on wheels, my guilty pleasure, my dark, brooding mistress....I love this car...

Thanks to all for your good wishes...

Stillwaters, that is one sweet looking ride. But now I have to go out to the garage and pat my XJR and tell her I still love her.

Default Seriously

Well, I actually DO go out to the garage almost every night. I stand there and just admire this car. The lines of this machine are simply breathtaking to me.

I drove this jewel with the top down for the first time yesterday. I felt as if every driver at every traffic light was checking the car out. I could actually feel the stares. Little weird at first, but very, very cool...

I have wanted one of these since the original XKEs of the 60s and 70s and now I possess one of my very own. I still can't beleive it.

My "bucket list" is now complete....

Click New Reply instead of Quick Reply. There is a box below that says Additional Options. You can Manage Attachments. Browse your computer for your picture and upload it. It should show up on your post. At least, that's how I remember it. If my car is showing, I got it right.

Alright, not sure what I was thinking. Response belonged somewhere else on a different thread. Sorry!! Must be getting old.
