Hi all I'm buying a 2004 jaguar xjr and I need some advice because I heard that they break down a lot & it cost a lot to fix so I wanna know if there's anyway to fix & service a jaguar in Brooklyn ny area for cheap or I must go to a jaguar dealer service center for high prices ?

Welcome to the forum Ymss845,

Good to have you here with us at Jaguar forums.

Jaguars need regular maintenance for reliability. The electrics in particular are complex but you will find everything here on the forum to troubleshoot anything that may go wrong.

Follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X350 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US North East Region forum by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

welcome to the forum and the Jag family! Plenty of info and support here - just follow the links provided. If you can do some of the work yourself - all the better, but I am sure there are some good indie mechanics in the Brooklyn area that can help with lower cost to repair

Modern Jags are no worse/no better than any other car of a similar type. Most people with such opinions are thinking of the bad old days when the cars were less than stellar.

Welcome to the forum Ymss845, I have a 2004 XJR, the only breakdown i've had is a battery that died (it was 8 years old btw), and that could happen to any car.
