Default Intro - 2003 S-Type

While I have had lots of British sports cars, and a 63 E-Type for a short while (I was in over my head. It needed more work and $ than I could handle) this is my first newer Jaguar. I traded a 1952 MG TD for it. TD was a nice car, but my body got too old for it. I needed something more comfortable and practical (that you can drive in the rain).

Currently dealing with those minor issues that all used cars have. It had no thermostat, my mechanic put one in, and then the leaks started. We are fixing them as they appear. Someone used the wrong hoses and clamps, and the screw type clamps cut holes in at least one hose. Back to the mechanic tomorrow to figure out the latest leak, but it looks like it might be the legendary nipple on the bottom of the coolant tank. Other than this the car is great, everything seems to work and the performance and ride, engine and tranny seem like new. Oh, it has $105k miles. That said, it seems to run great.

I'm live just outside of Santa Barbara, CA and found a great Jaguar Master Technician, from London, who lives here and recently left the dealer and set up his own shop. Seems to know his stuff.
