Intro
Hello everybody, my name is John (as per my amazingly unoriginal choice of user name). I found this forum after buying my Jaguar less than a week ago. The forum has already provided me with a possible solution to the only problem (so far) I am aware of with the car which is that the rear sun screen is stuck down. As some have pointed out on another thread this really is not the biggest problem imagineable for an owner in the UK and especially the north west of the UK but it was helpful to know that others have had the same problem and to see suggeted solutions, so thanks for the help already! This is my first Jaguar.
Welcome to the forum.
Good to see you.
It might be an idea, to show what Jaguar you have. Gives the guys a clue as to how best to help you.
Add a signature, maybe a poem or two
(bet you are sick of that one, especially different spelling)
Get the sun screen thing sorted, it will help hide the rain.

Sorry for failing to give the model in my first post and thanks to all those who have taken the trouble to reply. I will edit my signature when I work put how to do it but the car is a 2005 Reg S Type R.
As for the sun screen it gives every indication of never having been raised in its life (and is not inclined to change its habits now)
As for poetry I will leave that to others and the ancestors.
Cheers

S-Type R. I guessed wrong.
Place to edit details is User CP button on the left of the main black menu bar.
Graham
Thanks Graham,
With luck the model should now appear with this message.
As for you not guessing correctly, well I didn't really provide much in the way of information for you to go on.

Works just fine.
Divination classes are obligatory around here. Graham is going to receive a "could do better".
Just need to scan, and then copy/paste the comment from an old school report. LOL

....Following the advice given in another part of the forum I am happy to confirm that the sun blind is now working correctly. Still no sign of any sun of course but, in the unlikely event that I do ever actually need it, at least I know that it now works. So thanks again for those who contributed to that thread.
As for the car itself I am still in dream land. I really am astonished at how much car you get for your money. I know that something is bound to go wrong sooner or later and that it will cost me when it does but even so it seems as though these cars have depreciated on the basis of a (poor) reputation which is 20+ years out of date. I can also see that the S Type in particular is not a style which everyone finds attractive but at least it is not anonymous and cruising along inside one really is a very pleasant place to be!

Hi everyone my name is Paul. We have a 2001 XK8 that we bought in 2005. My wife used it as a daily driver and the car has 126000 mi on it and still runs well. We just bought another car for my wife,so the Jaguar Aka. Black Betty can have a well deserved rest. Going to keep her in the garage and spoil her
