Default Intro

I have been a Jaguar owner since 1996. My summer car - a beautiful, white 1989 XJS V12 convertible caught fire and burned last Fall. Fortunately, I still have my British Racing Green, 1998 XJR which I bought in 2001which is running nicely.

Unfortunately, I drove it as my winter car and over the last 6 months it has rusted terribly on the trunk lid botom lip and under the rear light clusters.

I replaced the trunk lid but I am now looking for advice on how best - and cost effectively - to repair the rust. Are there quarter panels that I could replace or do I need to get custom panels fabricated?

Looking forward to advice....

Welcome to the forum ihscott,

Seriously bad news about the XJS.

I recall looking for quarter panels for an X308 in the UK a few years back and having problems finding a supplier. If the situation is the same in Canada, you could try sourcing rear wings from a breaker in one of the US 'sunshine' States and cutting out repair sections.

Follow Norri's link to the X308 tech section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Graham
