New to forum and thanks for having me. I owned a 2004 X-type, which ended up being stolen, used in a drive by shooting then torched. In January, I jumped back in Jaguar ownership with 2016 XJ V6 (59,000 miles) with carbon fiber and illumination package... and fortunately with an extended warranty from a reputable dealer and pre-sale inspection (which doesn't seem worth it). Within four days the engine light was on throwing P0456-00 code. Starting with the easiest fixes, replaced the gas cap ($80), battery ($450) and now finally replacing the diagnostic module tank leakage pump ($1210). Jaguar dealer then found a sizable coolant leak from the rear crossover pipe, requiring replacement ($2063). Oh and had to replace the front control arms ($980). Luckily all costs have been covered by the warranty... and I'm in the process of getting a refund on the pre-sale inspection. Absolutely love the car / spec and hope once it's sorted it being lovely daily driver. And thank heavens for the extended warranty.
That's some 'to do' list for an inspected vehicle! If it hadn't been for the extended warranty, you could have been tempted to torch this one yourself.
Hello,
Congratulations (I think) on your new Jaguar!
They say (those who say such things), that the Purchase Price of a Used Jaguar is only a down payment, and that sometimes you spend that much again making it right..
It's good you have this warranty coverage or you might have bought the car again one piece at a time, like those of us who do that sort of thing for fun.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
