Introduction but not necessarily new...
Yes, my third post, because I did a "search" on the internet for the headlight problem I was having and it dropped me into an old thread much to the dismay of another forum user. So, while I've been reading some of the posts over the years, I'm apparently a member for sometime. Didn't mean to offend anyone. So, I do own a 1990 Jaguar. My wife, who basically hates my car hobby but still loves ME dearly, saw the XJS at the Shenandoah British Car Show in Waynesboro many years ago. Full of hope and encouragement I bought her one for her birthday that next Spring. I was a Triumph TR6 guy for 15 years at the time and had started a Cobra Replica project so I thought to myself, "this will be Ok, V12 with Lucas wiring, what could go wrong.?" It's a beautiful dark green with black top. We get stares and compliments every we go somewhere in that car. For the $5,500 I paid for it and double the investment in repairs so far, shocks, springs and new A/C (my first) I guess it was worth it these past ten year or so. I'll admit, we've neglected the car the past few years. I could tell after about 15K miles on the odometer the tranny was slipping and more sluggish than originally intended. So with some help, I upgraded to the T700 and kit from John's cars. Fairly pleased with it now, not quite the dramatic increase in acceleration advertised, but much better and it "feels" more like a luxury convertible than it did before. I can't tell and don't care if I'm getting better gas mileage. It may be smug to say, but I didn't buy this car for it's fuel economy, I bought it to bring a smile to my bride's face and hopefully to convert her to more of car enthusiast. Time will tell. The money I'll spend on replacing that darn passenger side window motor will leave a bitter taste for awhile though... But, if I get the headlights working again we'll cruise it on the Blue Ridge Parkway without that window operating for now..

Hello, Patrick,
Next time your wife complains about the time you spend in the garage, tell her that as long as you have cars to tinker with, she'll know Right where you are and Exactly what you're doing, Every Waking Minute of the Day.
