Default Investigating a Cat

Hi all,

I'm lurking around investigating a potential trade of my 2003 Jeep Wrangler for a 2002 X-type 3.0 Sport with 96k miles (plus cash). The transfer case has already been recently replaced (it does have DCM), and I didn't feel any problems with the auto transmission...

So I'm here trying to bone up on info regarding reliability, what types of fluids I should/can use for the transmission, what things I should look for, and all those little details to see if it's worth it for me to do the trade. I like the car, I need a vehicle the GF can drive (she's too small for the Jeep), and I need something with better mileage...

'Jeep' stands for 'Just Empty Every Pocket' so I'm used to ongoing annoyances and occasional self-repair...

I have nothing against Jeeps, they certainly have their place. Jaguars have a totally different place. They're completely different animals.

However, you Are coming up in the world.

Welcome from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum.
Heard that one many times,my Jeep has been emptying my pockets for 17 years now. I had to buy cargo pants when I bought the Jag so had an extra pocket for it to empty.
Actually parts are cheaper for the Jag than the Jeep.

Pulled the trigger on the Jag.

I'll miss that Jeep. But hey, new experiences, right?
