Default Jaguar s type 3.0 v6 manual 2000

I bought a Jaguar s type 3.0lt V6 manual in March this year.Amongst a few other jobs i had to replace the power steering pump everything worked untill now that is has become colder the pump makes an awfull noise when its cold but as it warms up it becomes silent. Now i wonder if i have put the correct steering fluid in it? I have just found out that i have put a mineral type in it and not a synthetic does anyone know if i replace it with synthetic fluid will it cure the problem? And if i don't replace it will it damage the pump?

Welcome to the forum middlemarsh,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Is it definitely the pump making the noise and not the drive belt?
