My car was stopping when I was driving ,losing power. Once I turned it off and on again it would drive fine again. A mechanic said it probably was the EGR valve and shortly after the warning light lit on the dash. I have now changed it and the light went out but the problem started again shortly after. Could there be another reason for this problem or should I change the EGR valve again. The one I had fitted was new but not the most expensive or the cheapest. An other mechanic said it could be a fault with the alternator so I don’t know. Any help will be appreciated.
