Hello everyone. I've been quiet for awhile. I joined the forum in July of 18, and was in search mode for a XJ6 to rescue. Came close a couple of times, but then in November my Dad passed. This set in motion a set of events that forced the Jaguar dream to the back burner. The biggest change (other than no longer having a Dad) was moving to Northwestern Iowa to help my Mom.

Things have settled down enough that back in January I restarted the search. Today I can proudly say I own a 1972 XJ6 Series 1 YES! She needs a respray and some upholstery work, but is free of cancer and runs good. Good compression/no smoke from pipes. Shifts well. Brakes a bit iffy..(first on to do list) and the tires have aged out. All in all I'm very pleased. As part of the deal (wait, wait there's more) I got a 1971 XJ6 parts car (sans engine and tranny). Looks like I'll have a great summer!!!

I'll start a new thread showing restoration progress.

Stay safe and healthy!

The 72. White with Blue interior.

Welcome back Jahmiata,

Sorry for your loss.

I've moved your post from the end of an old 2014 Intro thread to a new one of your own. No need for any links from me as you already know your way to the model forums.

Graham
