Just acquired an S-type 4.2 VDP, 2005 m.y.
Hello --
I have been browsing this forum for over six months, reading extensively on the (modern) S-type and X350 XJ. Two and a half weeks ago I acquired a Jaguar S-type 4.2 VDP, 2005 m.y., Radiance red color. I picked it up from my brother who has kept if for the past 2 years 4 months since our father died (he was the original owner). This is my first Jaguar, and I love it! While I was driving it from Oregon to Utah via Seattle, I became a Jaguar believer. I get it. There is just nothing else quite like a Jag.
I am familiar with Jags, as my dad owned three beginning with the glorious 1973 Series I XJ12. He later got a 1986 XJ Vanden Plas, and then when he returned to America after having spent the first five years of his retirement living in London (England, of course), he bought this S-type.
The S-type has 71k miles. I think I will own it for the rest of its life and plan to get it to 200k miles as a daily driver. (I do about 12k-14k miles annually.) I will post in the S-type section, and at some point I'll do the same in the Western US section if there's discussion related to Utah. I am attaching a photo of the car in Seattle. (I was not able to attach a second shot of the front.)
I'll add a signature with my into on my Jaguar once I figure out how to do that!
