Default Just Arrived based in the UK

Hi All,

Time to introduce myself as the proud owner of my 1987 XJS Cabriolet, which I purchased last October with 88,000 miles on the clock, and managed to buy a 1986 HE Coupe at the same time!!!

The Cabriolet, has been little used and after buying it and studying the history established that the engine was replaced 15 years ago and has only done 14,000 miles since then. A fact unknown to the previous owner as he had inherited it from is father and was too young to remember the history.

The HE is currently for sale and hopefully will be on its way to a new owner in France in two weeks time.

I previously owned a Mk2 for 20 years, however only managed to drive it for 7 of those as it was a project which I never managed to finish.

I am looking forward to joining in with the forum members and I suspect I will be seeking advice more times than offering it.

Welcome to this extremely friendly and helpful forum.
There's all the advice you need available from an amazing knowledge base.
I'm sure it's obvious but you need to post in the right bit of the forum to get the answers.
If it's any help I find a very specific Google search 'Jaguar XJS oil pump' or whatever produces better results than using the forum search engine.
This forum is almost always in the first few returns if you phrase the search peoperly.

Welcome to the forum,

+1 to Steve's advice.

The XJS Cabriolet sounds an excellent find. Good luck with the sale of the HE.

Nice to hear about the XJS cabriolet. I had one in 1987 while I was waiting for the XJS convertible to come out. Mine was white which looked good at first but after a few months rust appeared along all the seams. Talking to a guy who had worked at Browns Lane he said if you could see all the dirt in the factory you wouldn't be surprised!
Anyway, it was completely re-painted and I had the body kit added which I thought was cool but my wife hated. It made the car look huge.
