hi all

i bought a 2002 X-Type 2.1 se late last year and have been visiting this forum for a while as a guest.

this forum has been invaluable in helping me learn about my car and resolving some issues i had with it.

despite the cars failings - i love my car and am very pleased i bought it.

i am sure that i will continue to find the member advice to be useful.

Hey Oz welcome to the forum good to have you with us.
I also had the 02 although mine was the 2.5.....those years had quite a few minor issues here n there as you may be aware....nuthin too serious.
Most of them have been written up and can be found in the x type faq quick links if you haven't already seen them.
How about a few pics of your baby? Maybe post up one of you in the mug shot thread too?

All the best

Your 02.....no probs with the door handles yet ( usually drivers - latch fails ) dash vents popping up, usual stuff?

dash vents were already popping up when i bought it

one of these days i will dab a bit of glue in there to help hold it down.

no problems with the door handles - yet.

it is a little disappointing that such a lovely looking car should have so many annoying little problems - thankfully my x drives beautifully at least.

running it on 98 RON as i have found that extends the range of the tank.

welcome to the site Orak...how about a little m ore info bout you, your car etc etc?

Oz.....there's a fix for the vents. A redesigned clip that actually works the way its sposed to....check it out at your dealer, they're not expensive.
I'm sure there's a write up about it in the X type FAQ quick links somewhere

hi Jim

i already upgraded the clips but the vent still pops up at the other end - i know i can hack the vents with a hacksaw to make them conform with the dash but i am loath to start cutting. i thought about new vents but they are rather ridiculously priced for two bits of plastic so - since it is only aesthetic i can live with it.
