Default Likely to be in the market for an XJR or S-Type R

Since I'm very interested in either an S-type R or an XJR I figured it would be a good idea to come here and find out a bit more about what I'd be getting myself into. I already made a post about this on the XJ forum though I've since done more reading an am leaning a bit more towards the S-type R for its' sportier handling. I won't be buying for at least 6-7 months yet but since this will be my first time actually buying a car for myself I'm pretty excited at the prospect, especially since the big raise I just got means I can get the kind of car I want rather than having to settle for something cheap. I'm attracted to the Jaguar R cars mostly because they are so cheap in the used market and have better than average reliability when compared to Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc. I'm specifically interested in an '06 since what I've read on here so far indicates that the Brembo brakes used on the '05s aren't worth it for the cost of upkeep. Any advice you can offer on this subject is welcome as I know relatively little about Jaguars.

Welcome to this friendly and helpful forum - and congratulations on the pay rise - not many of those around at the moment!

Enjoy your research and, eventually, your car.

Thanks guys, I've already found answers to most of my questions. Now it's just a matter of finding a local dealer who will let me drive these beauties.
