Hi all,

I'm a new member to this forum but a longtime member of the Jag-Lovers XJ40 forum. Since we added an '04 X350 XJR to our garage last August, I've been gradually seeking additional sources of knowledge and experience, and after lurking on the Jaguar Forums for awhile I've finally joined.

In addition to the XJR we've also owned a '93 XJ40 VDP for about 15 years. Prior to that we had an '88 XJ40 Sovereign for a few years. I do nearly all my own mechanical, electrical, upholstery and woodwork, and I've done just about everything that typically needs to be done on an XJ40. I'm just beginning my journey with the X350 and recently rebuilt the air suspension compressor with a new piston ring and desiccant. I keep photo albums at the Jag-Lovers forum documenting much of the work I've done.

We live in Franklin, Tennessee, near Nashville, in the U.S. I'm happy to finally be a member of the Jaguar Forums.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the kind welcomes, guys. Graham, I just went to my CP and confirmed that I had entered my vehicle info when I completed my profile, but for some reason that info is not showing up in my signature line. Any tips on what I'm missing?

Thanks, Don

I think I figured it out - I had entered my vehicle info in the profile form but hadn't edited my signature as you so clearly instructed. Let's see if the new signature shows up here.

Thanks!, Don

Welcome Don B.
I am glad to meet you and happy to have someone nearby join. I have been to Jaguar Nashville a few times. The area around Franklin is nice. Also the Mercedes dealership on Bakers Bridge for transmission spares. Please enjoy yourself in here.

Don,
You are heartily welcome here indeed! Actually, I kind of feel like somebody famous just joined the club. I've also been a member on Jag-Lovers since buying my XJ40 almost six years ago, but never really active. I have personally benefitted hugely from your thorough archived posts, obvious generosity of time, and fastidious picture taking! It's largely due to guys like you that guys like me - who are more enthusiasts than mechanics - have the courage to run and steward our cars. Thank you very much indeed, and have fun both with the new X350 and on the forum!!
Cheers,
Scott

Don,

I'm very please you joined the forum. Can't tell you how many times I've referenced forum members to your posts and photos on Jag-lovers. You'll certainly be a welcomed voice of experience for many, me included.

Rob!

So great to find you here! I'm sure the other members have benefited often from your vast knowledge. I look forward to exploring all the great resources here to learn about our X350, and maybe from time to time I'll be able to join you in sharing some of the things we've learned about the XJ40.

Cheers,

Don

Scott,

Thanks for the very kind welcome! I'm thankful that my photo documentaries have been helpful. It's one way I try to pay forward all the help I have received from many other forum members who have been generous with their time and knowledge and helped save me countless hours and dollars. I read a quote somewhere recently, possibly on this very forum: "To share knowledge is to save money." Of all the great things about the Internet, I think forums like this are among the greatest. I'm happy to be here!

Cheers,

Don
