Default Magnaflow cats

Hi my first thread here but thanks alot everyone here. Google sends me here everytime I hit a wall and the best most well written advice I consistantly find here. Anyway I have a clogged cat and wanted to upgrade to magnaflow cats but they wont fit in the stock spot so I was going to straightpipe the current cat spot cut out the resonators splice some xtra wire to the o2 sensors and put the magnaflows where the resonators were. Can any pneumonia think of a reason this wont work or even better confirm it will. Oh its an 01 s type 4.0

Welcome to the forum,

Head over and ask in the S Type area for advice on your cats.

Hi Mountain and welcome to the site. As far as I know there is no reason you should contract pneumonia from your clogged cat unless you breath in the dust. Anyway, you can bypass the cat, but depending on where you live it won't pass inspection, especially if they have tailpipe sniffers. It's also possible your cars computer may throw a code if the O2sensor picks up extra hydrocarbons from the unburnt fuel that the cats are designed to burn up.
Head over to the S model section, you'll find some knowledgeable folks there.

Sorry, I think I misread that. So you're still putting cats on it, just in a different location? It could work but I'd be worried about the heat emitted in an area that wasn't designed to withstand it.
