My name is Lyndon Lasiter, we live in Metairie, LA. My wifes Jag is an -06 white XJ8L with tan leather, 66,000 miles, great car.

I'm trying to avoid a $400 light bulb change which is presently what I've been quoted. Knowing which bulb I need will be a big help.

Welcome, Lyndon. Um, yeah. Which light could that possible be? Perhaps its something 'specialized' on the newer models? Because I buy mine from Walmart for, like, a nickel. I'm sure somebody will help you out with that if you don't mind swapping it out yourself.
