Default Mr.

Hi, I have bought a Victory edition 2005 XKR coupe in midnight black. I believe their were 9 convertibles and 6 coupes imported into Australia. Can someone please tell me the total number of RH drive cars were built?

Welcome to the forum Rossb,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

(I recommend you remove your full address for 'Location' and replace it with Kellyville or Sydney, NSW. No need to give the internet identity thieves too much information!)

The Victory Edition was only marketed in the US. It was supposed to be limited to 1000 but in the end I think there was 1019. The identical specification model was marketed as the Final Series in the rest of the World and only limited by the number Jaguar could sell. I had a 2005 Frost Blue XK8 Final Series coupe.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR ( X100 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Hi Graham, I have looked at the original purchase order for my car. It was sold new by City Automobiles, Sydney.
It is in fact a Final Edition, and not a Victory edition as I was told. It is one of 15 of this model imported into Australia in 2005 by Jaguar LandRover,Nine of these cars were convertables and six coupes in this order.
It has all the Victory edition extras fitted by the factory.

I had a 2001 XK8 Coupe before the 2005 Final Series 4.2-S Coupe. The Final Series was definitely the better car.

Not suprised so few were exported to Australia. It was an expensive car here which would make it outrageous with Australian import duties added.

You asked about production numbers. The only figures I have are totals for 2005:

XK8 Coupe - 666
XKR Coupe - 669
XK8 Convertible - 1687
XKR Convertible - 985
Total - 4007

Of these, 3430 went to the US leaving only 577 of all specifications for the rest of the World.

Graham
