Welcome Franca,

Not giving much away eh!

Have you already got a Jaguar, are you looking for one or here to find out more about them?

Hello - being new to all this - not quite used to how this works - anyway - don't mean to be shy! I have an X Type 2 litre diesel Estate 2004 - have had it for 2 years - really like it except on the occasions when my garage calls it the Mondeo when I take it in for an MOT! However - I am having a somewhat irritating problem with it at the moment. The interior light won't go off because the dashboard is showing 'Tailgate open' and I can't open the tailgate to close it again to put the light out! It's not affecting the performance of the car but it will be most distracting when I am driving at nighttime - which I shall be doing tonight! Can anybody help? I am thinking about disconnecting the battery and resetting - is that worth a try? Many thanks..

Franca,

That's more like it!

The 'Tailgate open' could be caused by a loose connection, wiring harness or lock microswitch fault. The guys on the X-Type section will know the answer. If you can't find it using the forum search, post the question in a new thread in X-Type section.
